A Recipe for Heart-Shaped Chocolates That You’ll Love!
Valentine’s Day is supposed to be all about love, right? So celebrate by choosing to make—and eat—delicious milk-free chocolates that don’t hurt cows. Cow’s milk isn’t ours to take, and eating chocolate that has dairy milk in it supports an industry that separates mother cows from their babies. ? So be kind to cows and make some special vegan candies. All you need is some vegan chocolate, nondairy milk, a heart-shaped mold, and a couple of your fave mix-ins—it doesn’t get any easier than that! So grab your parents, and let’s get started.
Ingredients
1 12-oz. bag vegan chocolate chunks or chips (try Trader Joe’s or Enjoy Life brand)
1 Tbsp. almond milk
Optional mix-ins: nuts, nut butter, dried fruit, coconut flakes
Instructions
- Warm a saucepan over low heat and add the chocolate and almond milk. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted. Be careful not to let it burn.
- Stir any desired mix-ins into the melted chocolate and pour into a heart-shaped mold. If you don’t have a mold, you can use an ice cube tray instead.
- Place in the freezer and leave until hardened, about 30 minutes.
- Remove the chocolates from the mold and enjoy. You can also wrap them to give as gifts.
