Urge Build-A-Bear Workshop to End SeaWorld Partnership
SeaWorld has a long history of harming animals—like dolphins and whales—by using them to make money. Most companies don’t want to work with SeaWorld because it is known for this cruelty. But Build-A-Bear Workshop has opened a store inside SeaWorld Orlando in Florida. We need your help to let Build-A-Bear Workshop know that it should help animals by ending its partnership with SeaWorld.
Why Build-A-Bear Workshop Should Stop Working With SeaWorld
More than 40 orcas and over 300 other dolphins and whales have died at SeaWorld. Even though the company stopped breeding orcas after people like you took a stand and demanded that it stop, it continues to use other dolphins and whales as breeding machines—creating more baby animals who are forced to spend their whole lives in a small tank. Dolphins are naturally chatty, social animals who forge strong relationships with other members of their pod. Forcing them to perform tricks to entertain humans is cruel.
Nearly every big business that previously supported SeaWorld has stopped working with it. These brands include Delta Air Lines, Mattel, Mott’s, and Taco Bell. The world is learning that keeping animals—including marine mammals—in extreme captivity is wrong. Build-A-Bear Workshop should get with the times and join the long list of companies that are rejecting animal abuse. Please urge Build-A-Bear Workshop to ditch SeaWorld and stop encouraging this cruelty.
